Do I really need a detox?

My suggestion*, a properly designed DETOX WOULD BE GREAT FOR 9/10 people on the

planet today. And today I am going to explain WHY, demystify WHAT a proper and efficient detox is, and where to go from here… Check invite to free webinar.

If you are skeptical of the need for a proper detox, I have compiled a list of different chronic diseases with an association in the research to exposure to chemicals and toxins. Here is a short list:

  • Abnormal pregnancy outcomes (1)

  • Atherosclerosis (and Heartattacks) (2)

  • Cancer (3)

  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (4)

  • Depression (4) (7)

  • Fertility problems (5) (6)

  • Fibromyalgia (12)

  • Panic Attacks (7)

  • Parkinson's Disease (8)

Doesn't my body already detox itself?

Very good question and YES, your body has an amazing organ and detoxification system already inside of it, to handle toxins produced internally and also coming from the environment. BUT, remember we as humans have only changed about .1-.2% genetically in the last 10,000 years, which is A LOT, but not very much compared to our environment. Like mentioned in my previous article, Toxins... Are they Real?, 'scientists estimate that everyone alive today carries within her or his body at least 700 contaminants, most of which have not been well studied (Onstot and others).' On top of that, one study that was published in 2009 out of the Electronic Journal of Sustainable Development found that the increase in organics (Toxic Chemicals) increased 1000% from year 1900-2000! (9)

So… What does that mean for you? Basically, our biotransformation (or detoxification) system was never made to deal with the type and sheer quantity of toxins coming from the environment.

Is it a juicing diet or fast?

We hear a lot about juicing cleanses and detoxes, as well as fasts that well “guarantee” detoxification of our bodies. Although these practices both have merit, and are beneficial for certain things, they DO NOT support complete detoxification of toxins! Now, I can here some Naturopaths and health coaches screaming at their screens, but hold on… We will talk for a second about properly supporting our biochemistry involved in the process. There are 3 phases of detox:

Phase 1 involves bringing a toxin, which are stored in your fat generally, and make a reactive site to attach a water-soluble substance to the toxic substance (10). This process is generally completed by the cytochrome p450 enzymes in the liver, the same one’s pharmaceutical companies and MD’s study for eliminating medications and so on. This process generally produces a ton of free radicals that need anti-oxidants to prevent oxidative stress (rusting). (11) So far so good right… No protein needed. But wait that’s only phase 1.

Phase 2. After phase 1, we have a substance that is very volatile and reactive, even more so than before this reaction, so it is imperative it be attached/conjugated to a water-soluble substance ASAP! This is where nutrition becomes paramount and we need tons of nutrients from food and ATP (energy from food) to do so. This is why complete fasting does not work, nor juicing). (12)

Phase 3, are proteins that transport the toxin outside of our cells, only then can it be eliminated through the bile, sweat, stool and urine. (11) (13)

Does it actually help?

After 10 years of experience implementing this program with many clients, people generally experience a important improvement in the following: (testimonials below and during FREE WEBINAR)

· Overall energy

· Mental Clarity

· Fat loss

· Overall sense of wellbeing

On top of that, it is also confirmed clinically, to be safe and effective! In one clinical trial, women with fibromyalgia had a substantial reduction in symptoms compared to the US food pyramid. There was also an improved detox of metals Mercury and Arsenic compared to the control! (14)

Conclusion

Detoxification is a very nutrient dependent process, that requires minerals, vitamins, amino acids and tons of anti-oxidants, therefore juicing and fasting alone are not enough to completely support the detoxification process.

Also, it is essential to both eliminate toxins coming in from food, environment and others, as well as supporting proper biotransformation and elimination.

To learn more about this process and run the chance of winning a free 30-day detox program (value 100$) join us for a FREE ZOOM WEBINAR Monday March 9th, where I will discuss the topic in depth.
